Jalandhar, April 10, 2019: In order to pay tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh massacre, PG department of Journalism and Mass Communication Doaba college organised a visit to Jallianwala bagh amritsar . Around 32 students from the department visited the site. Students paid homage at amar jyoti and martyrs well. Students after witnessing the bullet marks and visiting the photo gallery, paid tribute to martyrs with heavy heart.
Rashi, first year student of BAJMC and first time visitor felt sad after witnessing the martyrs well and bullet marks. She said, “It is very painful to even imagine the trauma people went through on that fateful day.” She stressed upon the fact that such visits should be organized frequently as it links the students and youth with history.
Jivesh, sixth semester student BAJMC, shares, “ Though I have visited this place earlier, but this time after visiting this gallery, photographs on the atrocities committed upon our martyrs are able to leave an all together different impression on my mind.”
Students also visited Harimandir Sahib and Durgiana Mandir. Prof Priya Chopra, Prof Gurpreet Sidhu and Prof Harman were along with students.
