Students and research scholars remember Maharshi through songs
Chandigarh, March 1, 2019: Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized an event on the occasion of the birthday of the founder of Arya Samaj, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. The event was presided over by the chairperson Prof. Virendra Kumar Alankar. Prof.Vikram Kumar Viveki, the Saraswat guest for the event, threw light on Maharshi’s contribution to both the promotion of Vedic tradition as well as to the freedom struggle. He told that through his writings, he even tried to motivate children for fighting for India’s freedom. Prof. Alankar spoke about Maharshi’s impact on the society from the point of view of both the promotion of Vedic culture as well as of the fight for Swaraj. Students and research scholars of both the chair as well as the department of Sanskrit remembered Maharshi through their songs, poems and speeches.
