Final winners of Season-2 of Football Tournament “Chitkara Fair Play Tournament 2015" concluded on Saturday at Chitkara International School.
Chandigarh, August 23, 2015: Chitkara International School always encourages and promotes learning through activities. Sports and games are one of the best tools for teaching good values, positive attitude, responsibility and most of all, fair play to the students. Fair play is a fundamental part of the game of football. It represents the positive benefits of playing by the rules, using presence of mind and respecting fellow players, referees, opponents and fans. Thus, it was chosen as the theme for the tournament.
Chitkara Fair Play Tournament 2015 season 2 concluded with an exciting final played between the teams of Strawberry Fields & Delhi Public School. Top two teams competed against each other in the finals and gave the spectators a nail biting final match. The final match saw cheers from audience with applause and appreciation from the Chief Guest too. The winning trophy was held by Strawberry Field World School as they defeated DPS with a score of 5-3. For Strawberry Fields Aarav scored 1 goal , whereas Ashray & Avi scored 2 goals each on the opponents . For DPS Aaryan Bhatti scored 2 goals and Aaryan Lamba scored 1 goal.
The Best scorer of the tournament was given to Ashray Bhardwaj of Strawberry Fields School, Best Goal keeper of the tournament was awarded to Bikram again from Strawberry Fields School. Aaryan Bhatti of DPS was awarded as the best Defender of the tournament. Soumya Hardik of of Chitkara International School was announced as player of the tournament.
Winner of the Chitkara Fair Play Football tournament will be awarded with Trophy and cash prize of 25 000, whereas the runner up will get Cash 15000.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Niyati Chitkara, Principal, Chitkara International School congratulated the winning team. She propagated team spirit and competitive spirit in right amount within a child.
