Ludhiana, May 11, 2018: Five days Short Term Course (STC) arranged by the Information Technology (IT) Department of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) Ludhiana concluded on Friday. This STC on “Strategic Management and SWOT Analysis for Institution Excellence” was conducted during 07th-11th May 2018 at the Training and Placement Seminar Hall of GNDEC. This course was organized under ICT in collaboration with National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training Institute and Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh. The objectives of this course were to provide the overview of challenges of technical education system, strategic management, SWOT analysis, strategic leadership organizational communication and strategic industry academic partnership for institutional excellence. Faculty members of various institutions had participated in this course.
NITTTR Chandigarh had chosen GNDEC Ludhiana as a remote centre for the conduct of this course. Dr. Kiran Jyoti and Mr. Pankaj Bhambri, Faculty Members of IT Dept. conducted this course as local coordinators for this ICT course. During this course, Dr. R.K. Wats from NITTTR elaborated the Issue and Challenges faced in the Technical Education System. He had suggested various ways for the attainment of Excellence in Technical Institutions and performed the SWOT analysis. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma shared his views regarding the Concepts, Importance, Principles and Practices of Strategic Management. Strategic Leadership for Institutional Excellence and Importance for Management was well expressed by Dr. Sanjay Kaushik in his expert talk during this course. Prof. Arun Sharma narrated the Strategic Industry Academic Partnership for Institutional Excellence.
Dr. Manpreet Singh, Head of Department (IT) thanked the participants for the smooth conduct of this course. He acknowledged that such kind of courses refreshes the individuals for specifically assigned tasks. Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal GNDEC appreciated the efforts of the organizers for creating and effectively utilizing this platform to spread awareness about quality based education. About 20 faculty members had participated in this course.
