Jalandhar, October 4, 2012: As part of 80th Air Force Day Celebrations, a Static Display  was organised at Air Force Station Adampur.

Air Commodore  M Fernandez, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Adampur was the Chief Guest on the occasion.  Vaneeta Fernandez , President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Local), Air Force Officers and other civil dignitaries were also witnessed the static display.

A Static display of Aircraft and Air Force Assets  was organised for the benefit of resident populace of Adampur and adjoining areas to showcase the Indian Air Force to the youth of Punjab. Static Display of Mig-29 Aircraft, display of SAM III missile on TLVs, Armament Stores, Crash Fire equipment and display of IGLA missile were a major attraction of the public. Other spotlight of the event were Publicity and Flight Safety Compaign in which publicity material like Aircraft Posters,  Air Force New Year Calendar, Caps etc. were also distributed to the students and other visitors.  NCC cadets were also given presentation on career prospects in the Indian Air Force which was a major highlight of the event.

Students of EMAAR International School Adampur, SD Public School Adampur, Apeejay School Jalandhar and Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 visited Air force Station Admapur to witness the static display.

Cultural Programme was also organized on the occasion. The event composed of varieties of performances, like Bharatnatyam, Bhojpuri folk and a hilarious skit. Apart from this “the wonder of the salute” was also performed. Folk dances of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan were also performed on the occasion.
