STATE LEVEL: Apex committee constituted

Chandigarh, December 12, 2012: Punjab Government has decided to constitute a State Level Apex Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Punjab to implement the recommendations of High Power Committee constituted under the chairmanship of Ex. Secretary General of Lok Sabha S.L. Sakhdhar

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Finance Department Punjab said that Chief Secretary would be the chairman of this committee. Principal Secretary Finance would be its permanent member whereas Administrative Secretary of the concerned department and Managing Director of concerned PSU would be its members.

The spokesman further said that this committee would review the action taken by various departments of the state related to Audit Reports/Audit Para of Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

He said that Budget Officer would be the nodal officer of the committee and he would organise committee's meeting twice in a year with the consent of Chief Secretary, Punjab.

This committee would submit its recommendations to Chief Accountant General (Audit) Punjab, Chandigarh.
