State Bank of Patiala, Ludhiana Zone held its 3rd Zonal Sports/Athletic Meet

Ludhiana, January 31, 2016: State Bank of Patiala, Ludhiana Zone held its 3rd Zonal Sports/Athletic Meet today at Shastri Badminton Hall (Guru Nanak Stadium), Ludhiana. Sh.  Devendra Kumar, General Manager (RNW-II, Chandigarh) was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the sports meet. S.Satpal Singh, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana was the Guest of Honour.  Sh.Naresh Gaur, Secretary, Zonal Welfare Committee and Sh.Suresh M.Nair, DGM, Commercial Branch, Ludhiana were also present on this occasion.  More than 200 bank employees and their wards participated in various events like Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom, Races, Shotput, Discus Throw etc. 

    

While welcoming the participants and other distinguished guests, Sh. Babu Khan, Deputy General Manager, Ludhiana Zone said that games play a vital role in everybody's life. Besides keeping us healthy, games freshens our mind and soul. Games as a career also can take a person to glorious heights in his life. He conveyed his best wishes to all the participants for their excellent performance in the events.    

               

GM, Sh. Devendra Kumar while inaugurating the Sports Meet shared that Bank has more than 1300  branches. The Bank has a rich tradition of excellence in service to customers in all areas of Banking. With 99 years of  history, It invokes a sense of pride to be connected with its customers. Our Bank has successfully faced several challenges in its long journey over several decades and has emerged as a key player in developing the social infrastructure in the country. Further, Sh. Davendra Kumar highlighted the various Deposits, Advances and other schemes launched by the Bank. He said that Ludhiana being the Hosiery and Industrial Hub has great potential and we are dedicated to enhance best services to the industry in this city and State of Punjab.
