St. Peter’s lifts two trophies for U-13 Boys and U-16 Girls Trophies and DRS one trophy for U-16 Boys in Second Chairman’s Interschool Basketball Tournament
Hyderabad, August 31, 2018: St.Peter’s International Residential School Under -13 Boys and Under 16 Girls are the Champions of the 2nd Chairman’s Trophy Interschool Basketball Tournament 2018-2019. The finals held today at the premises of St.Peter’s Residential School at Kompally. In the U-13 Boys Category, St. Peter’s defeated DRS with a score of 27-15. Shantaraj of St. Peter’s scored 12 points for his team and was awarded the most Valuable Player and Mohit of DRS recognized as the most Promising player of the tournament for the U-13 Boys In the U-16 Boys, DRS International School defeated St. Peter’s with a score of 59-58 in the extra time. Nehan of DRS was awarded the Most Valuable Player while Vishnu of St. Peter’s was recognized as the Most Promising player of the tournament. In the U-16 Girls, St. Peter’s defeated DRS with a score of 28-8. Archana of St. Peter’s was awarded the Most Valuable Player while Vibhi of DRS was recognized as the Most Promising player of the tournament. The Champions and Runners up in each category were awarded with a Rolling Trophy and a cash prize of Rs 8000/- and Rs 5000/- respectively. The Chairman,Bal Reddy distributed the Trophies, cheques and medals to the winning teams. The school Directors Saroja Reddy, Sridevi, Jaypal Reddy and TA Reddy, the School Secretary and Correspondent TV Reddy Principal Deepa Emanuel and Vice Principal Toji were present at the event. Saroja Reddy, Director, in her address emphasized that the tournament was conducted to encourage budding talent and instill in players the spirit of the game. St Peter’s Residential School one of the best three Residential Schools of the Telangana state gives lot of importance to overall development of its students. The tournament is an annual event. Ten teams comprising of 276 students from DRS International, Pallavi Model School, Jain International School, Oak Valley, HAL Public School, Mamtha High School, CMR Intl School, IVY League Academy, SRI Vidyanjali High School and St. Peter’s Residential School participated in the tournament. The Tournament was earlier inaugurated yesterday by Vinay Yadav, veteral Basketball player who represented India at international level tournaments and presently working as a Customs Officer. Score Under 13 Boys---St. Peter defeated DRS International:27 and 15 Shantanraj of St. Peter’s Scored 12 points and adjudged as Most Valuable Player Mohit of DRS Most Promising Player Under 16 Boys—DRS Intl defeated St. Peter’s: 59 and 58 Nehan of DRS was declared Most Valuable Player Vishnu of St. Peter’s Most Promising Player Under 16 Girls---St. Peter’s defeated DRS with a score of 28 and 8 Archana of St. Peters emerged as the Most Valuable Player Vibhi of DRS as Most Promising Player
