Jalandhar, May 22, 2017: Sports are the epitome of hard work and dedication. Cambridge International School wholeheartedly believes in the motto "Education through Sport" as it gives wings to our young learners to attain excellence, success, confidence and self-esteem in them. The main motive is to prepare the young people of today with the necessary skills that will allow them to become future productive citizens of society. Therefore, the young and spirited players of Cambridge International School keep participating in various events and outshine in maximum of them.

A National record setter and garnering laurels is our new Sprint King Gurindervir Singh who has a list of achievements to his credit. Gurindervir Singh has won Gold medal in 100 meter event by setting a record of 10.77 seconds at 2nd Asian Youth Athletics Championship 2017 held at Bangkok from May 20, 2017 –May 23, 2017.He has created a National record with the timing of 10.69 seconds and has created history by grabbing First Gold Medal for India in 100 meter event and has been declared the Asia’s fastest sprinter.

On this occasion, Chairman Mr. Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Mr. Deepak Bhatia, Executive Director LWES Mr. J.K Kohli, CEO LWES Dr. Brijesh, Director LWES Mr. Nitin Kohli, Chief Education Officer LWES Ms. Deepa Dogra, Secretariat LWES Ms Geeta Mahajan , Ms. Meenu Huria, Ms Smita Verma, Principal CIS Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon, Sports Coordinator LWES Mr A S Sikand, Deputy Sports Coordinators Ms Harpreet Kaur and Mr Anurag Bhardwaj applauded him on for the prestigious win in the championship and wished him luck in the pursuit of his goals in future.

The school authorities extended their heartfelt congratulations to his parents on this golden moment. They also applauded the efforts of the sports department who left no stone unturned in extending support and guidance to him which was instrumental in creation of such success stories within the walls of Cambridge.
