Spirited KMVites launched `Say No To Plastic’ Campaign
Students make the College Campus Plastic Free Jalandhar, October 5, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage and Autonomous institution, Jalandhar's caring and sharing for the society is inbuilt in the system. Fulfilling its social responsibility, KMV launched 'Say No To Plastic' campaign under its plastic free drive. The campaign was organized to create mass awareness about the ill effects of plastic and for the importance of an ecological balance for better environment and healthy living. During the launch of the drive, the students held placards that stressed on shunning plastics in all forms including plastic bags and cups. They said that the use of plastic bags affects the whole society and called for avoiding it completely. In order to make the college campus plastic free, the students also launched a Cleanliness Drive in the college campus. Students emphasized on the fact that the ban on plastic would be effective only with the people's support and also called for unity among the people in the fight against plastics. It is worth mentioning here that all the students of the Student Council participated in the campaign. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi encouraged students to avoid the use of plastics and also motivated the students and all the faculty members to plant more and more trees and make the environment clean and green. She also averred that these types of campaigns should be initiated from time to time so that the young generation should be able to understand its responsibility towards the environment.
