Speedily Implement Welfare Schemes For SCs And Weaker Sections

Chandigarh, August 19:The Punjab Government has strictly directed all its departments for speedy implementation of welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes and other Weaker Sections of the society to facilitate the beneficiaries at ground level.

Disclosing this here today, Gulzar Singh Ranike, Minister for Welfare of SC/BC, said that Punjab Government was committed for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and other weaker sections of the society by ensuring the implementation of all welfare schemes. He said that the directions in this regard have already been issued to all Principal Secretaries, Commissioners of Divisions, Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers besides instructing them to strictly implement the Scheduled Castes Sub Plan. He said that to make all the exercises easy Punjab government has also issued new directions to withdrawal of funds.  

Ranike said that the state government has also amended the process of withdrawing funds by including demand no. 25 for the welfare funds, which were earlier booked under section 789 of Sub Plan, in the recently issued notification for 2012-13. He said that though all the welfare schemes of SC Plan has included in demand no. 25, but the major head would be remain the previous one and DDOs of concerned departments would also remain the same. He said that the heads of concerned departments would distribute sub-heads of 789 SC Sub Plan through its DDOs and concerned DDOs would withdraw the funds from treasury.  He said that all the concerned authorities have been directed for proper implementation of Welfare Schemes for SC and other weaker sections of the society.
