Chandigarh/Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala), November 14, 2019: The spectacular light and sound show being organized by the Punjab government today got a massive response from the devotees as thousands of them today converged at the PUDA city ground to have a glimpse of the show, which showcases life and philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji via ultra-modern technique.
The show was a part of the commemorative events being organized by the Punjab government to mark the 550th parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. During the show various events associated with the life of great Guru sahib were showcased beautifully through the light and sound rays. Similarly artists also gave their presentations related to the ideology of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji in a befitting manner.
On the occasion, the Deputy Director Local Government Mr. Barjinder Singh and Secretary RTA Mr Darbara Singh were the chief guest of the show. In their address, they said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was committed for celebrating the 550th parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji in an unsurpassed manner. Mr. Barjinder Singh and Mr Darbara Singh said that this show was also a humble and befitting tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, who had shown the path of peace, oneness of God, compassion and brotherhood to the humanity. They called upon the people to follow the path shown by great Guru sahib.
Later, renowned Punjabi singer Mr. Pamma Dumewal paid a musical tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji during the show. Mr. Dumewal regaled sea of devotees through his mesmerizing voice and connected the pilgrims with the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Due to the melodious voice of the singer the entire atmosphere was imbued in spirituality thereby ensuring that people had a unique experience of the show.

Chandigarh/Beas, November 14, 2019: Sri Amritsar residents evening witnessed glimpses of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s grandeur through floating light and sound show organized here in river Beas to commemorate the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. MP S. Jasbir Singh Dimpa and MLA S. Santokh Singh Bhalaipur Baba Bakala were specially present during start of the show.
Addressing the viewers present on the occasion, Mr. Dimpa said that the light and sound show beautifully projected Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's philosophy and his universal message to society. Through the show the ethos of tolerance, peace, communal harmony, women empowerment and protection of natural resources were brought alive. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's efforts to promote social equality were also aptly showcased during the show. Such shows would be organized at various places in the state during the coming four months.
MLA S. Santokh Singh Bhalaipur said that the large number of people reaching to witness the show is perfect testimony to its growing popularity. Mr. Bhalaipur further added that the main rationale behind the light and sound shows being held by the State Government is to make today's young generation aware of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and philosophy based upon social equality and against social evils and the technology is coming in handy in this sincere endeavour of the State Government.
The people on the occasion appreciated the the State Government for the effort of organising the light and sound shows. They expressed strong hope that this initiative held amidst the Beas river would create history.
Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included District Session Judge S. K.S. Kang with family, Secretary Legal Service Authority Sh. Sumit Makkar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sh. Himanshu Aggarwal, SDM Major Sumit Mudh, DSP Sh. Harkrishan Singh and various representatives of social and religious organisations along with large number of viewers.
