Special Lecture at Gandhian Studies, PU
Chandigarh, November 13, 2019: The Department of Gandhian & Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh under the UNESCO Network Chair on “Global Peace and Non Violence” organized one Special Lecture on “Non-violence of Gandhi in Buddhist Views”, here today.
Dr. Manish Sharma, Chairperson of the Department introduced the Speaker Dr. Phramaha Surachai Phutchu, Assistant Prfoessor in Buddhist School, Maha Chulalongkornaja Vidyalaya University, Phayao Campus, Bangkok (Thailand) Dr. Phramaha Surachai Phutchu in his presentation stressed upon the ideals of Truth and Non-Violence as proposed by Mahatma Gandhi and Buddha. He also discussed about the need of the establishment of peace in the contemporary world. He talked about the Branches of Philosophy, Humanism, Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche- German Philosophy, leadership and the concepts relating to Buddhism. He also emphasized that patience is more required than the previous times. Apart from speaking he also gave the practical solutions for the day to day life problems. The lecture was also attended by two another senior monks from Thailand (Dr. Phramaha Boonyod Tonkanya) and chanted the various verse and blessed the audience. The lectures were attended by a large number of audiences from various departments.
