Ludhiana, June 9, 2015: A special General Body meeting of PAU Retirees' Welfare Association was held in Students' Home Hall. Giving information regarding the meeting, President Jila Ram Bansal told that Mr Jarnail Singh, Branch manager of State Bank of India, PAU along with his colleagues arranged a Seminar to apprise of the running schemes of the bank for the retirees and they also discussed with retirees for the problems being faced by the retirees while visiting the bank. The bank staff assured that all their grievances will be sorted out within a couple of days.
Chairman of the Association DP Maur told that expert doctor of city's famous Eyes Hospital Shankra Dr. Ashish Bajaj & Dr. Anamika also arranged a Seminar in the retirees meeting of the benefits for retirees. He held a question–answer seminar regarding the ailments of the eyes and their remedies.
The General Secretary of the Association Satish Sood told that in the last month meeting of the Association Mr. Jila Ram Bansal was re-elected the President of the Association unanimously in recognition of the work done by Mr. Bansal for the retirees. The General Body had also authorized Mr. Bansal to form his Executive Body at his own independently or can seek the recommendations of any committee if he desires so. Accordingly Mr. Bansal formed an eight members committee, which met on 25-5-15 at Sukhdev Singh Bhawan and gave its recommendations to the President who in turn accepted the recommendations in letters and spirits. Mr. Sood further told that these office bearers were appointed for the next two years which was confirmed by the General Body in today's meeting. This time the team of Mr. Bansal, the President consists of more experienced and devotional retirees than before and Mr. Bansal assured the members of the Association that during this tenure more and more grievances of the retirees will be removed and efforts will be made after meeting the Vice-Chancellor of the University for opening a new pension Bhawan where every pensioner can sit and enjoying retired life with extra recreational activities.
In the meeting Association's Advisor and Ex-President of the PAU Employees' Union Mr. Paramjit Singh Gill told that recently Punjab Govt. has removed the anomaly by stepping up of the Pay of senior employee drawing less pay than a Junior employees which was intimated by Punjab Government letter and on 24-4-15 this University also accepted the orders issued by the Punjab Government in letter and spirit which was also conveyed to the Deputy Controller, Local Audits, PAU, Ludhiana vide CAU's letter No. CAU/P-5/2015/1902 dt. 20/4/15 but the local audit denied this letter for the pensioners so Jila Ram Bansal, DP Maur, Paramjit Singh Gill and Ajit Singh Cheema met the Deputy Controller, Local Audit and after a long discussion, he agreed that soon the cases of the pensioners' will be taken & passed and a long pending grievance of the retirees will be removed.
Today's meeting the following retirees also spoke on different issues, HBS Bhatia, Patron, Advisors SS Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Bidhu Sharma & Amrit Pal, Sr Vice Presidents Ajit Singh Cheema, CS Grewal, Joginder Ram, Jagga Singh, Labh Singh Chahal, Narinderpal Singh, Sukhjinder Singh Sekhon, Manjit Mehram, Gurmukh Singh, Birbal, TS Sangra, RS Rangila, Muni Lal, Mrs Sapat Kala, Mrs Balbir Kaur, Amarjit Singh, Paramjit Narula.
