A SOULFUL EVENING ON THE OCCASION OF 78TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY ORGANISED BY PRACHEEN KALA KENDRA

Chandigarh, February 9, 2019: Ghazal aficionados of City Beautiful were treated to a mesmerizing performance by renowned Ghazal singers and musicians in a soulful evening organized by the Pracheen Kala Kendra to pay tribute to legendary Jagjit Singh on his 78th Birth Anniversary . The occasion was took place here today at its M.L.Koser Indoor Auditorium in Sector 35. The musical evening was well-attended and the audience.

Piyousha Mitra began the recital with Sholaka followed by Babul mora, Baju band khul khul jaye and Tarana respectively. After this Sh. S.D. Sharma and Piyousha presented us mod se shuru karen , agar hum kahen aur wo muskura den and kagaz ki kashti and touched listeners heart.

After this melodic duet Simant Singh from Gurgaon took the centre stage. He doled out with famous ghazals of Jagjit Singh like hosh walon ko khabar kya and koi fariyaad followed by suna tha who aayenge, tere aane ki jab khabar mehke and har taraf har jagah beshumaar aadmi by Shushil Nagpal and Anita Rattan. Their flawless rendition of the Ghazals enthralled the audiences amid wah-wah.

In the last part of the programme Musafir moved on to present famous compositions “Kaun aayega yahan , main nashe mein hun, baat nikalegi to phir door talak jayegi and dhuaan bana ke mujh ko fiza mein uda diya amidst thunderous applause.

They have accompanied by fine team of accompanists like GS Lovely on Key Board , Gautam Dhar on Tabla and Surinder Singh on Guitar provided admirable support to the concert.
