Q: Describe your character?

Gaurav: I am playing the character of Ashmit Oberoi. He is a fun loving character and an NRI. He can speak Hindi, but not properly, especially the tough words. He is a very nice guy - a charmer and good at heart. He does healthy flirting, but is not cheap and does not flirt around. That is Ashmit Oberoi.

Q: How did you prepare for the role of Ashmit Oberoi?

Gaurav: To play the role of Ashmit Oberoi, I saw Ghajini multiple times for Sanjay Singhania played by Aamir Khan. He was very decent and simple. Ashmit’s background is like that, but he is not that simple. He loves to have fun and be happy. He has some naughtiness - one that I got from the Shashi Kapoor starrer Trishool. That is accurate for Ashmit. So yes, I have seen these two movies and combined them, presenting something that is mine.

Q: Has the shoot started? How has it been?

Gaurav: Yes, the shoot has started and I am loving the location. I am loving the unit, the people and the co-actors, especially the director. I am getting to work with such great people. I am feeling good about it. There are some known faces on the show already. We have a lot of fun and I also get to learn a lot. I am really enjoying myself.

Q: What do you have to say on the bond between sisters?

Gaurav: The bond between Sisters is always a very special. I don’t understand it that well, as I don’t have any sisters, but I always wanted one. Even if I did, even I would have to be a sister, to be able to explain that bond. However, yes, from my perspective, it is a pure bond. Even though there are some arguments between them, they tend to share a lot of things. They solve each other’s problems. So, sisters are always super sisters.

Q: Do you feel that you and your character ‘Ashmit’ are similar in any aspect?

Gaurav: Yes, I do think that Ashmit and I do have similarities because even I like to have fun and chill. I don’t sit quiet and I am quite confident. I am not as rich as this guy is, but I would want to be. I am having a lot of fun because I don’t have go an extra mile or out of my comfort zone to fit in this role. I just need to have fun, which I do off screen too, I am able to do that openly so yes I am enjoying it.

Q: How is this role different from other characters you have played in the past?

Gaurav: My role as Ashmit Oberoi is different. There is something new in this character. If I were to compare my role in Super Sisters from the previous shows, the only similarity is that my characters were quite rich. Apart from that, there are no similarities.

Q: What do you think the audience can look forward to?

Gaurav: The concept of this show Super Sisters is very unique. The first time I heard of it, I found it to be very interesting. The protagonist is always avoiding and running away from love due to a mysterious secret of hers. As the story evolves further, it will be very interesting.
