Sony SAB: Aladdin – Q-A Session with Avneet Kaur (Yasmine)
Q: Did you watch Aladdin as a kid?
Avneet: Yes, I remember seeing a movie based on Aladdin as a kid but never saw any series. I enjoyed watching Aladdin’s adventures with Jasmine in the movie.
Q: How do you feel playing the character of Yasmine, who is one of the most beautiful characters on the screen?
Avneet: I love Yasmine’s character. She is the pretty princess of Baghdad and at the same time she is a strong, confident and independent individual who wants to do good for her people. I believe she is beautiful inside out.
Q: Are there any qualities you and Yasmin have in common?
Avneet: I enjoy dressing up just like Yasmine. Her bond with her father is beautiful, just like I do with my real-life dad.
Q: How different it is to work on a fantasy show like Aladdin than the other shows you have done in the past?
Avneet: In the past, I have worked on real locations but on Aladdin due to the high-quality graphics we mostly shoot on chroma to perfect the vfx effects. It seems easy, but it is tough to shoot as we must get our actions bang on.
Q: How did you prepare for the show?
Avneet: I attended many workshops to get into the skin of the character. To perfect the role and get her personality and accent right, I had to learn the way Yasmine talks and walks, for which I attended various classes.
Q: Who is your favorite character?
Avneet: I really like the character of Genie. He is funny and quirky. He is very fun-loving person and full of life.
