SLIET team ‘JUGGERNAUTS’ lifted2nd Runner-Up Overall Winner Trophy of 'International Go-Kart Championship- 2019'

It is celebration time for the team members of ‘Juggernauts’ of Sant Longowal Institute of Engg. & Technology (SLIET), Longowal as they were adjudged ‘Best Build Quality Winner’of the 7th Season of International Go Kart Championship (IGC - 2019) held at Lovely Professional University from 15th-18th March 2019.For this Championship, 100+ teams from across India and abroad had registered The team represented by 20 vibrant students from the mechanical engineering departmentof SLIET, Longowal under the guidance of Dr Shankar Singh, Professor (Mechanical) as Faculty Advisor (FA),conceived, designed and fabricated the Go-Kart, and participated in the IGC 2019. Their mantra to success was focus, commitment and teamwork. They put their heads together and burnt the midnight oil right through to fabricate the vehicle and tested it on the institute campus before heading for the four-day event. The initial phase based on technical inspection was followed by dynamic tests. The final round had endurance test where maximum laps were to be covered on the racing track within one-and-a-half hour by all finalists of Go-Karts.The team Go Kart (# 41) completed more 33 + laps, till the finish of endurance race. The team ‘Juggernauts’were also awarded 2ndRunnerup Overall Championship’s Winner Trophy and Endurance 1st Runner Up Trophy, alongwith cash prizes.The aspirations and efforts of the team are well appreciated and complemented by Prof. Shailendra Jain, Director, SLIET; Dean Academics Prof. A.S.
