Six persons die in road accident near Jalandhar

Jalandhar, January 2, 2014: As many as 6 persons were killed and 3 injured when a truck crushed to death near village Kahanpur in the wee-hours on Thursday on Jalandhar-Pthankot Highway. They were crossing the road when the tragic incident occurred.
Of the deceased, five persons including a five year old kid and two women breathed their last on the spot. The injured include a three year old child. The injured were rushed to the local civil hospital.
Of the deceased, one has been identified as Vinod Kumar Saini, an auto-rickshaw driver. Saini is the resident of Hargobind Nagar, Jalandhar.
The driver of the truck managed to flee from the spot.
