Ludhiana, August 8, 2018: Sitar player living legend Padma Shri Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan enthralled students at Ramgarhia Girls College, Miller Ganj, Ludhiana during Sitar Recital Concert organized by Post Graduate Department of Music in association with SPIC MACAY on 8 August 2018.World renowned Tabla player Sh. Hindole Majumdar also marked his presence on the Tabla. S. Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, Shri Atul Talwar and College Principal Dr. Inderjit Kaur, welcomed the esteemed guests. Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan while inspiring students to feel the soulful music, appealed students to preserve rich heritage of Indian music and save it for the next generation. Shri Hindole Majumdar said that it is most important now a days, to preserve and promote Indian classical music and dance amongst the youth. During the concert, as their fingers moved elegantly on their respective instruments, an unforgettable musical journey was weaved. While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Inderjit Kaur said that year after year SPIC MACAY is providing the young generation with the essence of cultural music and dance, and this concert is another attempt in that direction. S. Ranjodh Singh also said that the event is another effort by the Ludhiana chapter of SPIC MACAY to promote the rich cultural heritage of India through which people get an opportunity to experience numerous art forms.
