Prant Sanghchalak of Punjab has said that Sangh has complete reverence towards Sikh religion and Gurbani.
Jalandhar, October 23, 2017: Sikhism like Buddhism and Jainism is a socio-religiously recognized religion, and Sikhs have a separate identity. RSS clearly recognizes Sikhism as a religion and has always acknowledged the separate identity of Sikh religion. This was disclosed in a statement by Sanghchalak of Punjab, Sh.Brijbhushan Singh Bedi. Prachar Vibhag of RSS referring to this statement of revered Brijbhushan Singh Bedi has stated that Sangh's viewpoint had become clear in 2001 itself when a meeting was held between the then Vice-Chairman of Minority Commission, Trilochan Singh and Madhav Govind Vaid of the RSS. All India spokesperson of the RSS at that time, Sh Madhav Govind Vaid in a written document given to Sh. Trilochan Singh had authenticated this fact that Sikhism like Buddhism and Jainism is a recognized Indian religion. Sh. Bedi said that this thing is well known but still misleading propaganda is being done on this issue targeting the Sangh. Therefore this propaganda that RSS and Rashtriya Sikh Sangat do not acknowledge the independent identity of Sikhs is contrary to the facts and misleading. He has told in his latest statement that he is again making it amply clear before the Sikh community that Sikhs with their separate identity, like other religions, are a recognized Indian religion and Sangh has full faith and reverence for Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Gurbani. Sangh has always been a contributor in the worldwide propagation of Gurbani. That is why Sangh celebrates with great fervor the Gurpurabs of Gurus and other festivals of the Sikh religion in its shakas and programs. For the supreme sacrifice of the Gurus, and for what the Sikhs have done for the nation, dharma and humanity the country, and its countrymen, will always be beholden to them. Sangh has always held them in high esteem and will continue to do so.
