Khanna, October 17, 2015: A number of Sikh activists belonging to different organizations today blocked traffic on the Ludhiana-Ambala road for about four hours against the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib at different places in the state. 
Protesters led by Jaspal Singh and Jasa Singh Galwadi sit in dharna on GT road in front of Court Complex Khanna for about four hours and recited “Satnam Waheguru”. They demanded to register murder cases against the alleged culprits for the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and also flayed the killing of two Sikh youths in police firing. They also flayed the role played by the SAD president and Chief Minister and accused them of working against the interests of Sikh Panth and Punjab.                    Although SDM Khanna Paramdeep Singh and DSP Khanna Raj Kumar tried to persuade Sikh Organizations not to block GT road but the Sikh activists blocked traffic for about four hours. The traffic blockade started at about 12 pm and lasted about four hours. Due to traffic blockade commuters had to face difficulties to reach their destinations. They also demanded registration of cases against police personal responsible of firing on the Sikh youths. 
Before this some organizations gave a memorandum to local SDM demanding action against the alleged culprits responsible for the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and those responsible for firing on the Sikh youths. After this some Sikh activists reached on the GT road and started dharna.      
As per SSP Fatehgarh Sahib JS Khaira who is also looking the work of SSP Khanna no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in Khanna Police District and the protesters lifted traffic blockade after submitting memorandum to SDM Khanna.
