Panchkula, August 25, 2014: The grand finale of Mrs. North India organised by Innovaction Events, a leading talent promoting company of the region, was held at Hotel Western Court, Panchkula. Prem Ojha, COO, Connect Broadband was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
An Introduction Round was held followed by, a Suit Round, a Saree Round and finally a Question & Answer Round was held before finalizing the results. The grand finale was a traditional affair with all contestants donning Indian apparel; Western attire was a strict No-No. Said Nitin Luthra, COO, Innovaction Events, “We focus on propagating Indian Ethos. It is a well thought-out contest based on Indian Culture for happily married ladies.”
After judging the scores of participants in all sub title rounds and in grand finale 24 -year-old Shyna Sharma was declared Mrs. North India to a resounding applause which reverberated in the precincts of Hotel Western Court, Panchkula. 29-year-old Navneet Sharma was 1st Runner Up and 31-year-old Raashi Setia was 2nd Runner Up. Said Shyna, “It is indeed an honour for me to become Mrs. North India 2014. Contesting against 200 ladies was not easy and the pageant has taught me a lot.”
According to Disha Luthra, MD, Innovaction Events, “While most beauty pageants are organised for unmarried women, ‘Mrs. North India 2014’ was structured for married women. The idea was to give them a platform to come out of their home and build greater self confidence.”
The onerous task of choosing a winner fell on the shoulders of the Judges at the contest who had been appointed with due deliberation due to their association in this field. These included –Mani Kapoor a well known Punjabi film actress who is coming in the female lead in 'Suhe Phull' & a forthcoming Punjabi comedy movie 'Police in Pollywood'. Apart from Mani the other two judges were Model Neelam Garg, and Nitin Manchanda, Technical Head, Indola.
The Judges accordingly, adjudged the finalists as they sashayed on the catwalk. The grand finale saw the finalists being given scores for “Mrs. Best Cat Walk”, “Mrs. Best Personality” and “Mrs. Photogenic”. Apart from the grand finale's proceedings, three previous sub title rounds were also held -- Mrs. Beautiful Body, Mrs. Beautiful Hair and Mrs. Talented.
