Ludhiana, February 8, 2013: In a shocking incident, a 17- year-old city girl has committed suicide because of eve teasing.
She belonged to a migrant family.
The deceased girl had been living with her parents in Chander Nagar locality here.
She consumed some poisonous liquid that was kept in the house for washing of washroom on Thursday evening.
On seeing, she was immediately rushed to a private hospital in the Haibowal area.
However, she failed to respond to the medical treatment and died in the private hospital.
The post-mortem of the body of the deceased was done at the local civil hospital on Friday.
Police Division No. 4 here have registered a case of abetment of suicide (306 IPC) against the accused.
The accused are stated to be neighbourers of the deceased girl.
When contacted, the Jagatpuri police post in-charge sub-inspector Rajesh Thakur told City Air News this evening that a case had been registered and three persons had been arrested in this connection.
Further, Tahkur confirmed that the deceased committed suicide after she was constantly teased by the accused.
