Shimla Rural constituency witness unprecedented development: CM

Shimla, April 13, 2017: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today said Shimla Rural Assembly segment had witnessed unprecedented development during last four years as number of developmental projects including roads, drinking water and irrigation schemes, revenue, health and educational institutions had been dedicated to the people.
He was addressing public meeting at Kohbag during his day-long tour to the Shimla Rural constituency, represented by him after dedicating and inaugurating a number of developmental projects.

The Chief Minister said 90 percent work on major drinking water supply scheme Sainj Nallah-Gadoh-Ghandal-Basantpur being executed at a cost of Rs. 105 crore had been completed and would be dedicated soon to benefit people of as many as 41gram panchayats of the constituency.

He said sight had been selected for opening Polytechnic college at Basantpur and construction work of Fine Arts college building at Loharab would be completed soon. He said nine new government senior secondary schools, nine high schools, 11 middle schools and eight primary schools were opened in the constituency during last four years besides making GSSS Shoghi as Model school. Degree college had been opened at 16 Miles and Community Health Centre at Sunni besides various health institutes at different places as per the requirements of the people.

The Chief Minister urged the people to adopt off-season vegetable production at large scale to improve their economy adding that the state government was providing irrigational facilities to the farmers and horticulturists.

Shri Virbhadra Singh inaugurated Ambedkar Bhawan building at Shoghi and Health Sub Centre at Chanog. He also inaugurated additional rooms and IT laboratory of GSSS Shakrah, science block of GSSS Kohbag, Health Sub-Centre, Okhroo and remodeling of lift water supply scheme for Okhroo. He dedicated Paniyana-Chalahal drinikng water supply scheme for Tikkar panchayat and also inaugurated Dhaneshwari Khud bridge on Dargi-Machrayana road completed at a cost of Rs. 2.28 crore.

He announced to start Biology and Chemistry labs in GSSS Kohbag besides construction of a multipurpose hall.

Addressing a public meeting at Chanog, he announced that buildings of government high school and primary school at Chanog would be renovated and additional rooms would also be constructed besides provision of boundary wall.

The Chief Minister said with a view to facilitate the people of the constituency in getting their works done with ease, Mini Secretariat had been opened at Halog-Dhami, Sub-Tehsils at Halog and Dhami, Police Station at Sunni and Polic Post at Jalog. He said Veterinary Training Centre had been opened at Ghanahati, Subz- Mandi at Totu and sewerage plan had also been prepared for Totu for which Rs. 19 crore had been released under JNURM.
