Malout (Muktsar), April 19, 2016: Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr.Sukhbir Singh Badal said that state government would provide citizen centric services at the doorsteps of people of Punjab in an absolutely transparent and rapid manner in the coming three months by operationalizing Sewa Kendras across the state.
Addressing the state level function organized to launch Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna for traders here today, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is opening over 2174 Sewa Kendras in the state where in all citizen centric services will be available. So the people will not be required to go to any office for government works but will get all the services under one roof near their homes. He said that one Sewa Kendra wii be established to cater to every cluster of 3 to 5 villages. He said that in this way people will get government services in a better manner.
Earlier, while addressing the people at the launch of Sehat Bima Yojna Deputy Chief Minister said that it is a very comprehensive plan and the benefits of Sehat Bima Yojna will percolate down to 45 lakh families of various sections . He said that under this ambitious project 2.33 lac merchants, 2.32 lac labourerss, 11 lac farmers and 28.9 lakh beneficiary families of Atta-Dal scheme of the have been covered and through this scheme annual cashless treatment up to Rs 50 thousand is extended to these families. Besides, in case of accidental death of the family head insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh will be given. Similarly in case of loss due to outbreak of fire, Rs 5 lac insurance cover will be given to the shopkeepers.
Deputy Chief Minister said that RAHAT scheme for businessmen is now operational across the state through which about 2.33 lakh dealers would be benefited with turnover upto Rs. one crore who by mere one time payment can rid themselves of all paperwork for the complete financial year. In the same way the state government has established a reserve fund to pay without delay the refund of taxes to the businessmen. He said that FIFO principle has been applied by the government under which the trader who applies for refund first, will be dealt first. Similarly, to end the Inspector Raj, a rule has been designed as per which Assessment will not be done of cases under turnover of1 crore. Which implies that assessment will be done of only about 10 to 20 % cases and others will be relieved of the process.
Similarly, the new industrial policy has been implemented in the state.
Reiterating the commitment of government towards to the welfare of all sections of the society, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that SAD-BJP government is running welfare schemes for under privileged sections of society like along with ensuring overall development in the state.
