Ludhiana, April 7, 2016: The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and its collaborating partners Development Environergy Services Limited (DESL) in association with Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) today organized program on Interaction with SIDBI & DESL Officials on Financial Support for Resource Conservation and Financial End to End Energy Efficiency Investments in MSME Units for 4E Financing Scheme.
Sh. Avtar Singh, President CICU said that Energy efficiency is associated with capital productivity and includes technological, behavioral and economic changes. Industries have started realizing and adopting efficient practices of energy use. Efficient use of energy, sometimes simply called ‘energy efficiency’, is using less energy to provide the same level of output. It is noted that improving energy efficiency has many benefits, like lowering energy bills, increasing our energy independence in the long run, reducing air and water pollution that leads to cutting carbon emissions that cause global warming.
Sh. Sachin Kumar Verma, Senior Energy Efficiency Expert (SIDBI-WB-GEF Project) Energy Efficiency Centre (EEC), New Delhi informed that MSME can now avail incentives-attractive loan or grant from SIDBI under WB-GEF Project. M. Amrath Sudeesh, SIDBI (Energy Efficiency Expert) New Delhi gave presentation to promote Energy Efficiency in MSME Units in Ludhiana Cluster. He also shared highlights from the past experiences of key futures of the project financing 4E scheme
S/Sh. Ravinder Chandra, Consultant, Tapan K. Pardhan, Associate Consultant, S.S. Hans Pal, Advisor-Power Plant and Prabhat Sharma, Project Analyst gave their presentation on methodology to be followed in project and share their experience on energy efficiency interventions in other clusters across India.
Sh. SB Singh Publicity Secretary CICU said that the purpose of implementing energy efficiency measures on an end to end basis for meeting the cost of:
• Capital expenditure including for purchase of equipment/machinery, installation , civil works, commissioning etc. for implementing the energy efficiency measured as recommended in the DPR
• Any other related expenditure required by the unit, provided it is not more than 50% of the 1st mentioned point.
Prominent Industrialists namely, Sh. H.S PAWHA, Pritpal Singh ,Sh. Lalit Jaion,Sh. Rajneesh Gupta, Sh. Dilpreet singh, Sh. Ravinder Singh (Director), Sh. Shasheesh Saini, Sh. Rakesh Jindal, and others. This programme was attended by more than 75 industrialists representing various sectors of the industry from different parts of Punjab.
