September to be celebrated as Hindi Month at PU

Chandigarh, August 28, 2019: Department of Hindi, Panjab University, will be celebrating September as Hindi Month to commemorate Hindi Day that falls on 14th September.
A number of activities including a 'Hindi Walk' have been planned for the entire month. Dr.Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Department of Hindi informed that seven events will be organized for the Hindi month. The aims of these events will not only be encourage participation of Hindi students but also to connect various strata of society with celebration of this Hindi month. Keeping this in mind, a Hindi Walk will be organized on 14th September at Sukhna Lake. All citizens have been invited to be a part of the event.
Other events that will be organized include, 'Sulekh Writing' on 9th September, 'Essay Competition' on 11th September, screening of the movie 'English Vinglish' by the movie club of the Dept on 13th September, a creative writing event(Har Chitra kuch kehta hai) will be held on 16th September and a discussion on the topic ' Bhashao sey Dosti' will be held through Kahi Ankhai literary forum of Department of Hindi on 20th September.
A special lecture and prize distribution will be conducted on 23rd September where winners of various events will be felicitated.
