Ludhiana, March 29, 2019: The Department of Ophthalmology, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana will be organizing a series of special under graduate and post graduate seminars to mark 125 years of service, education and research by the Institute. The first Master class was organized on 29th March 2019. Dr.M.R.Dogra,Professor and Head at the Advanced EyeCentre, PGIMER,Chandigarh was invited as the guest speaker. Dr.Dogra is the pioneer in the detection and management of Retinopathy of Prematurity in India and has received several National and International awards and honors for his extensive work on ROP.
The occasion was graced by the “building blocks” of the Eye Department, CMC- Dr. S. K. Chopra, Dr. Richard Daniel & Dr. S. M. Bhatti.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMCH. He encouraged & appreciated the efforts of the Department in organizing this academic session and also in spreading awareness about common retinal disorders especially ROP.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Jeyaraj D Pandian, Principal, CMC also spoke on this occasion and reiterated the importance of having regular academic session for all the students. Other invitees included Dr.Sumeet Chopra, Professor & Head, Ophthalmology from DMC and Dr. InderpreetSohi and the team from the Department of Pediatrics Medicine.
The sessions were conducted by Dr. Nitin Batra, Professor and Head, Department of Ophthalmology,Professor Rupali Chopra and Professor Gurvinder Kaur, CMC Ludhiana and were attended by over 150 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
