Seminar on "Leveraging Technology for Business Growth" held in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, February 24, 2019: CICU in association with SME Venture and Schneider Electric organized Seminar on "Leveraging Technology for Business Growth" recently in a hotel at Ludhiana.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President-CICU, in his welcome speech said that there are many challenges in operations in India for SMEs and these include raw material / Labour, lack of technology, cumbersome regulatory practices, lack of FDI, hindering infrastructure, lack of marketing support, Lack of innovation / R&D etc. He also mentioned that Technology helps in getting connected to the globally connected consumers, brings automation, plugs the skill gap and provides data for analysis and decision making and helps in global expansion and we all should adopt IT services to grow.
Anjan Bhattacharya, Market Segment Leader in Cyber Security from M/s Ernst & Young LLP, Gurgaon enlightened the audience about the role of Cyber Security in Emerging Technology trends which explained the consumer experience with the Information Technology with some example of today's Applications running on our mobile phones & elaborated the techniques to save the data from vulnerability. He emphasized on SME to get the Vulnerability test in their IT department to protect their data and banking process from hacking and data leakage which is utmost important in today's time.
Rahul Sharma, Executive Business Development from M/s Schneider Electric, Mumbai. In his presentation on "Don't trust the power", he explained the various Power Back-ups options by APC which ultimately helps to protect the data as well as time and very beneficial for SME of Ludhiana. He also elaborated about the products they have which gives solutions from 20 kVA to 4000 kVA UPS.
Ajay Chhabra, Senior Digital Transformation Leader from New Delhi started talking on leveraging technology through eCommerce, adopting social, mobile, analytics and cloud technology, taking advantages of Government schemes. He also stressed on creating Viral Video for SMEs product or business, running Google AdWords - Mobile Click to Call campaigns, Running Facebook Lead Generation campaigns etc for business growth via digital Marketing. He also touched upon why SMEs should be curious to know more on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain and Augmented Reality and implement these for their products / services to have cutting edge in the business world. He also mentioned that newer technology tools for cash less payment systems to be used by SMEs. More than 70% SMEs, in India are having no or negligible online presence and only 2% use technology tools currently. A number of global researches in SMEs sector conclude that SMEs using Technology / Tools are growing better than their counterparts not using technology.
The program was attended by 90 prominent industrialists, including Rajnish Bansal, Neelam Bansal, Gautam Malhotra, Amarjit Singh, Ashwin Nagpal, Didarjit Singh, Jagdish Dhingra and Atul Malhotra.
