Seminar cum workshop held in Nirdosh School For The Mentally Challenged

Ludhiana, May 2, 2016: A seminar cum workshop was held in the Nirdosh School For The Mentally Challenged in Rotary Bhavan, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana on Monday for the parents and staff.

The speakers were Dr Puneet Auluck, Senior Paediatrician, Professor and HoD, DMC
Her topic “Reason and management of mental retardation with special emphasis on early intervention” was widely covered in her speech and she gave small useful tips in handling these children.

Ms Chitvan Singh, Senior Psychologist, PGI spoke on legal rights of children with mental retardation today and told the parents about many schemes of the government which could benefit the children.

Ms Varsha Bisara, Holistic Healer and Corporate Trainer spoke on how to emotionally handle and manage tantrums of special children with special emphasis on the behaviour patterns of the parents. She made everyone do meditation to spread the effect of calmness.
Ms Rachna Sharma, Noted Social Activist and Renowned Astrologer was the guest of honour.

The session was followed by vigorous interaction of the parents with the experts.
Chairperson Poonam Bindra said in her concluding remarks that such sessions will be held regularly with one expert per a few set of parents.
