Season-2 of TechFest “ATHENA - 2019” at PCTE

Ludhiana, March 13, 2019: The Department of Computer Science of PCTE Group of Institutes organized the 2nd season of “Athena- 2019”, a daylong extravaganza which had 175 students from 17 different colleges namely GNA University, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Arya College, Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology, Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College, S.C.D Government College etc. participated in 8 different events like Technical Quiz, Digital Poster, Turncoat, IT Talks, LAN Gaming, Code Debugging & Logic Building. Mr. Gurmeet, CEO, Eureka Electrosoft & Mr. Arjun, Team Leader, Kochar Infotech were the honorable chief guest of the event where Mr. Gurmeet interacted with the students and discussed about Digital Gadgets, Latest Languages & Technologies. Mr. Arjun discussed how practical knowledge is necessary apart from theoretical concepts and further stated various examples related to IT businesses. The competition was full of fierce as each team gave its level best to win in it, where in Web Page Design, the first position was bagged by Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, the second position was bagged by Khalsa College for Women and Kamla Lotiya S.D. College bagged the third position respectively. In Code Debugging the first position was bagged by S.C.D. Government College, the second position was bagged by Arya College, and the third position was bagged by S.C.D Government College. In IT Talk the first position was bagged by CT Group of Institute, the second position was bagged by GGNIMT and the third position was bagged by CT Group of Institute respectively. In digital Poster the first position was bagged by CT Institute of technology, Shahpur, the second position was bagged by S.C.D Government College and the third position was bagged by Kamla Lotiya S.D. College. In Turncoat the first position was bagged by CT Group of Institute, the second position was bagged by GGNIMT and the third position was bagged by Arya College. In Logical Building the first position was bagged by GNDEC, the second position was bagged by Kamla Lotiya S.D. College and the third position was bagged by S.C.D. Government College. The Overall fest was looked after by students of computer science department under the guidance of IT faculty. Mr. Kapil Prashar, Dean Academics congratulated and appreciated the efforts made by the students. He further added that the entire fest was well organized and coordinated. Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the entire team of the Computer Science Department for successfully organizing the TechFest. He further added that opportunities like these bring students from various colleges together, in a professional environment where they learn to work and grow together even while competing against each other.
