SCS Alumnus delivers lecture on Public Relations

Chandigarh, November 26, 2016: School of Communication Studies (SCS), Panjab University (PU) today organized Lecture cum Interactive session on the topic ‘Public Relations in contemporary scenario: An Indian perspective’.
1978 batch alumnus CEO and founder of Core Communications Pvt.Ltd (CorePR) Mr.Charanjit Singh was the speaker for the event. During his lecture, he mentioned the essential skills required for becoming an effective PR professional. He described
public relations as a science and an art of effective communication with the target audience thereby highlighting the important phases and the challenges faced during the lifecycle of a PR professional.
During the interactive session, when he was asked a question on the negative perception of PR agencies on the issues of ‘image building’, ‘spin doctors’, the speaker told the audience that advocacy for a cause and objectivity were two
different phenomenon and should be dealt separately.
