SCD Govt College organised Annual Prize Distribution

Ludhiana, March 14, 2015: SCD Government College, Ludhiana organised its prize distribution function on Saturday to facilitate 640 students at Sahir Auditoriam.

Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab awarded the Role of Honour, College Colour and Merit Certificates to the students who achieved something special.

He announced rupees five lacs from his discretionary kota for welfare of his own college. He shared his experience that he paddle thirteen kilometer every day to attend hid classes. He gave all credit to his teachers who helped him a lot to clear his PMT. He congratulated the students who got Role of Honour, while he said, “I could get only Roll Number of this college.” The minister asked students to equip themselves with the demand of the world. He assured to sole other problems of the college development.

Ranjeet Singh Dhillon, MLA, was guest of honour at this occasion.

The principal, Dr Dharam Singh Sandhu presented the annual report of the college highlighting the achievements of the students in academics, Sports, NCC (Air wing and Army wing), Cultural domain for the session 2014-15.

Jagdev Singh Olympian Award was presented to Sahil Batra(M.Com 3rd), Piyush Manuja (MA2nd Eco), Palpreet Singh(BA-2).

Roll of Honour was awarded to  Arshpreet Singh BHullar, Rajveer Singh, Arjan Sharma, Gurpreet Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Baldeep Singh , Rajkumar, Sandeep singh grewal, sandeep singh, Mansimar Singh (BA-1),  Khushmeet Singh, Navdeep Singh , Karanvir singh,  Simarpreet singh, Arjan Sharma, (BA-2), Ashwani Behl, karanvir singh, harmanpreet singh ( BSc-2),  Ritasha Dua MA-2 Eco.

74 students got college colour. In NCC Air Wing- dhruvan, Mohit Sharma, Pranav Kumar, Kanwar Abhy Singh, Tanmay Singh Sekhon, Ritesh Shukla, Rakesh kumar, Sachleen singh, and Savita Kumara.

NCC Army Wing- Gianveer, Manjeet Kumar, Sonu, Zoravar Singh, Avtar Singh, Harjinder kumar, Ajay Paul, Deep Singh. Other got college colour in sports like basketball, swimming, judo, taekwondo, chess, cricket, wrestling, weightlifting etc  and cultural activities like orchestra, bhangra, jhoomar.

Hundreds of other students were awarded Merit Certificate in different fields like NSS, Red Ribbon Club, NCC (Air and Army), Student Editor in Hindi, English, Punjabi, commerce, and Sanskrit.

Old alumni of college Navdeep Singh, Director FM Gold , Ludhiana, Prof. Avtar Singh from Aanandpur Sahib, Tanveer Dhaliwal Councillor, Ranjeet Singh, Principal, In-service Training College, Paramjeet Kaur DEO were also offered token of love by the chief guest.  Prof. RK Miglani presented vote of thanks.
