Dharamsala, February 23, 2016: Ritesh Chouhan, the Deputy Commissioner Kangra in Himachal has taken up a new and unique initiative to help the school children to choose the correct career. The scheme, which is claimed to be the first of its type in the state has been as Chhatr Samvad, where the selected batches of school students of the district shall be able to spend a day with any district level officer, they desire and observe his/her lifestyle.” These separate groups shall have glimpse of the officer, his working in the office, opportunity of interaction and to know his past motivations to reach the present place. And also work as bridge between bureaucracy and public,” said Chouhan while talking to this correspondent.
DC said that to achieve these objectives, a frame work has been developed, where students shall enroll by DC’s email through their Principals with the choice of officer they wish to meet. The district administration on the other hand make the availability of the desired officer for a day, and the TA/DA.
In another scheme named ‘Samvad Se Prerna’, the DC will meet himself with the group of selected persons of different fields of the district on lunch or dinner to gain insight into their profession and help them improve. “This shall also be a platform to motivate the practitioners to strive further in their endeavours,” said Chouhan. He said that in this concern he shall have the first meeting with best farmers of the district on 10th of March this year.
