Ludhiana, July 22, 2018: The Primetime Theatre Company’s Salaam, Noni Appa- a play by Lillete Dubey, was staged at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, Ludhiana, on Saturday evening.

The play was based on Twinkle Khanna’s short story with the same title. Besides Lillete, cast included some of India’s most talented theatre artists, including Yatin Karkekar, Jayati Bhatia and Gillian Pinto.
The duration of play was 90 minutes.

Salmaan, Noni Appa was a delightful story about life’s wonderful unexpectedness; where new adventures and experiences await us at every turn, provided we have the courage to spot them. It is a tale of discovering love in the autumn of life, and finally, of being true to ourselves.
Noni Appa, an elderly widow, and her sister Binni, opposites in nature, are two sisters whose worlds after marriage, children and widowhood, merge once again. They laugh, bicker, fight and love, and spend their days in a familiar and comfortable – albeit staid – manner, till one day Noni Appa, who has always lived in step with society, suddenly finds herself falling in love with a younger married man. She finds herself torn between choosing companionship over respectability.
Salaam, Noni Appa was about breaking stereotypes, talking chances, and rediscovering what makes life truly meaningful and worth living.
The audience was seen completely thrilled to see performance of the artists on the stage. There came many occasions when the audience was compelled to laugh and clap. The stage show was completely full of emotions and turning points. Every minute created anxiety among the audience what to happen next. It was really full of drama. The storyline was interesting and appreciable. The ultimate message of show was to enjoy and live every moment of life instead of suppressing one’s own feelings and emotions just to fearing for others.
It was a unique experience of Ludhianvis to witness the show.
At the end of the show, some of the artists express their anger over the disturbances caused to them by some photographers who kept on moving infront of stage once and again. The artists even expressed their annoyance over whispering by some people of among the audience. Some people among the audience even kept on using their mobile phones. The annoyed artists said they felt great difficulty in listening to the dialogues.
