Rs.129 Crore Released For Old Age Pension And Other Social Security Schemes In Punjab

Chandigarh, March 7, 2018: Giving major relief to the beneficiaries of old age pension and other social security schemes, The Punjab Government released the grant of Rs 129 crore to be paid to the beneficiaries for the month of January 2018.

Disclosing this Mrs.Razia Sultana, Social Security and Women & Child Welfare Minister, said that under various social security schemes, in total 17.28 Lakh beneficiaries would be benefitted. She said that soon the pension amount would be credited into the Bank accounts of the beneficiaries. She said that any person, who was found absent during the scrutiny and verification process, may now contact the concerned District Social Security Officer or the Department.

Mrs.Razia Sultana further said that after the completion of scrutiny and verification process, swift action would be taken for the hassle free transfer of the pensions from December 2017 into the accounts of the beneficiaries. She said that the prominent schemes now being run under the Social Security Department included Old Age Pension Scheme, financial assistance to widows and destitute ladies, financial assistance to dependent children and financial assistance to differently able persons.
