Chandigarh, May 14, 2014: Punjab Irrigation Department has announced rotational Program for irrigation for the Kharif Season through canal water from 14-05-2014 to 21-05-2014. The channels and branches off-taking from Ropar Head Works, the channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from Abohar Branch, Patiala Feeder, Sidhwan Branch, Bathinda Branch and Bist Doab canal, respectively.
Disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of the Irrigation Department said that Ghaggar link and its off-taking channels i.e. Ghaggar Branch and Patiala Minor in Group B, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in Direct Distributaries of Group A.
He said that Punjab channels and branchs off-taking from Harike and Ferozpur Head Works, Abohar Branch off-taking from Sirhind Feeder and its distributaries, in Group B, being in first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in Direct Distributaries of Sirhind Feeder in Group A.
The spokesman further said that the in the Upper Bari Doab Canal system, Lahore Branch with its distributaries, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in Main Branch Lower, Kasur Branch Lower and Sabhroan Branch with their distributaries, respectively.
