Hyderabad, September 1, 2019: Gary C.K.Huang, Chairman of The Rotary Foundation was in the city on two day visit. Gary CK Huang is a very top Rotary dignitary around the world reached Hyderabad on Saturday as part of his five city Indian tour to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Cochin and Chennai.
Gary C.K. Huang who served in the year 2014 - 2015 as Rotary International President participated in a program "The Friends of the Foundation Gala Dinner" on Saturday night organsied by Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan at Hotel Grand Kakaitya Thirty top city’s industrialists were invited for the gala dinner where they showcased Rotary and its activities to them.
Prior to the Dinner program while addressing a press conference he said The Rotary Foundation in its past 100 years since it was established in the year 1917, raised and spent a mammoth sum of US $ 4 billion or INR 27,200crore on various service project across the world

This year 2019-2020 my target is to raise 400 million US $ which is close to Rs INR 2900 crore. From India alone we expect to raise INR 210 crores by June 2020, informed Gary.
India is the most important Rotary Nation. It is the second largest in terms of its membership which is put at 1.5 lakh and it is also the second largest in terms of contribution to the Rotary Foundation. Last year India contributed 21.4 million US $ i.e INR 150 crore to the Rotary Foundation. This year the target is to raise 30 Million US $ ie INR 210 crores from India. India comes after USA in terms of contribution to the Rotary Foundation. USA contributes 180 Million US $ to the Rotary Foundation
India contributed 21.4 million US $ last year and got back 21 million as a grant in the same year for various service projects informed Gulam A. Vahanvaty, Trustee of Rotary Foundation in India.
President of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, Sailesh Gumidelli presented a cheque of INR 1.75 crore as their contribution to the Rotary Foundation. Besides their contribution, an individual member of the club presented 25000 US $ or i.e INR 17.5 lakh. It was informed that INR 1.75crore is a very large donation and is the biggest amongst all clubs in South Asia. Last year, the same club contributed US$270,000.
