Jalandhar, July 25, 2016: Rotary Club, Jalandhar North in 2015-16 did remarkable job by undertaking 82 projects under the stewardship of Rotarian Surinder Singh Thakur and secretary Rotarian Ravinder Pal Singh which was applauded by the gathering the installation ceremony of the new team here recently.
All the project works were dedicated towards humanity, therefore, all the members gave a clap to the outgoing president and welcomed new president Manjit Singh and secretary Er Kunwar Sunil Kumar.
The function was organised at a local hotel on the Nakoder Road, Jalandhar. BJP senior leader and former minister Punjab Manoranjan Kalia, MLA, was the chief guest.
In his address, Kalia said lauded the role being played by Rotary Club in serving the needy society. He also recalled the role played by the Club in eradication of polio by actively participating in pulse polio campaign and providing lavatories in the schools.
Kalia congratulated the newly elect president Manjit Singh and hoped that the new elect team for 2016-2017 would try to take up more projects compared to its predecessors.
Speaking on the occasion, the new president elect Manjit Singh for 2016-2017, said his team was committed for continuing their service of rendering service to the suffering humanity.
A Souvenir of the Club was also released by Kalia.
Yash Anand, Virender Thakur, Rupinder Kaur, Sawtantar Kohli, Kunwar Sunil Kumar, Surinder Singh, Jatinder Kumar Gupta, Sarabjeet Singh, Parvinderjit Singh, Jasbir Singh Sabharwal, Ravinder Pal Singh, Vikrant Sharma and others were present on the occasion.
