Ludhiana, October 4, 2015: The second day of the Panjab University Zonal Youth Festival, Ludhiana Zone-A commenced with ritual of lighting of the lamp by the Mayor of Ludhiana, Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria at the auditorium of Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College on Sunday. Having the privilege of organizing the Youth Festival for the third time in Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College, the college management has made best arrangements in Youth festival also.
The main chief guest of the day was the Governor of Punjab and Haryana, Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki. Addressing on the stage, Governor said that youth is fortunate for having blessed with various facilities arranged for them by their parents, support provided by society and shelter provided by the nation. It becomes a duty on the part of the young students to feel grateful for all this and repay by being dutiful and responsible citizens. He highlighted the principle of meditation and ‘Naam Bhajan’ as a natural cure to all deep rooted evils. It plays a proactive role in uprooting the evils by purifying the minds. He exhorted the young generation to adopt wider perspective and broad vision so as to achieve their ambitions in life. He further quoted the words of Swami Vivekananda, “Develop the heart and the conscience because God lives in it.”
The guest of honour in the morning was Naval Kishore, Dr Gurinder Kaur Sangha, Anoop Sagar, Dr Parvinder Singh, Dr Jagwant Singh and in the evening Manoj Singhal, Madan Goyal and Rajneesh Jain were the guest of honours in the festival.
Earlier in the morning, highlighting the theme of Panjab University Zonal Youth Festival, Ludhiana Zone-A, ‘Clean, Green & Healthy India’, morning chief guest of the festival, Mayor of Ludhiana, Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and college management asked students to keep their surroundings neat and clean as the youth is the icon of the country.
Dr. B.D. Budhiraja, former, Dean Colleges, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Dr Shiv Mohan Sharma, the Principal of College, and other members of management, Sunil Aggarwal, President, Dharampal Jain, Senior Vice President, Brij Mohan Ralhan, Vice-President, Sandeep Aggarwal, Vice-President R.D. Singhal, General Secretary, Rajesh Mittal, Secretary, Shaman Jindal, Cashier, Sandeep Jain, Manager and the executive members have also talked about the importance of ‘Clean, Green & Healthy India’ for the welfare of the country.
The events on the second day of the Panjab University Zonal Youth Festival, Ludhiana Zone-A was stared with Announcement of Topic of Installation, One Act Play, Histrionics, Mimicry, Announcement of the Topic of Debat, Indian Orchestra, Instrumental Music, Percussion, Non Percussion, Final, on spot Painting, Photography, Collage making, Clay Modelling, Cartooning Still Life Drawing, Installation, Poster making and Quiz contest in festival.
The theme of the Collage making was Gossips and folk, while the theme of the collage making was ‘Punjab’. But the play presented on the stage steal the heart of the audiences, chief guests and management dignitaries present in the auditorium. The students acted just like the professionals in the play and the sets put up for the play were giving a realistic look on the stage. The costumes of the theatre artists were well selected according to their roles in the play to give a realistic look to the audiences and judges who were there to watch and judge their performances on second day of Youth Festival. The theatre artists spread message of an evil free, progressive society in India.
