Republic Day being celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.
Jalandhar, January 26, 2015: Students and staff today at Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated Republic Day in the College campus.
On the occasion the Chief Guest Kamal Kishor Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar was given guard of honour by the NCC wing of the College. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest said that it was the duty of all the countrymen to maintain the unity and integrity of the country by exercising their voting right in a right way and added that education institutions could play an influential role in spreading awareness in this regard.
In his address the Principal of the college Dr.G.S.Samra said that it was mandatory for one to understand one’s duties and respect others’ rights so that the real spirit of democracy could be maintained. He urged the students to work unitedly to contribute to the development of the country.
On this occasion outstanding students of the college were awarded prizes.
