Repairs to Mohali-Landran Road expected to be completed by end of November: Cabinet Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu

“Efforts are underway to complete the repair of Mohali-Landran road by the end of November and reconstruct the entire road with a new design, by the end of March 31,” said Mr Balbir Singh Sidhu, Cabinet Minister, Animal Husbandry, Dairy farming, Fishery and Labour, Government of Punjab in his inaugural address at PARIVARTAN 2018, the annual national, techno-cultural fest of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran today. He also added that “The state government led by the Chief Minister making dedicated efforts to improve the lives of Punjab’s farmers, generate more employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab as well as freeing the state from the menace of drugs.” Mr Sidhu commended CGC Landran for providing quality technical education, working towards getting good placement opportunities for its students and playing an important role in making Punjab the chosen education destination for students from across India through its services in the education sector.
The minister also felicitated outstanding students from CGC Landran who had excelled in academics including NCC Cadets. Mr Amarpreet Singh, Managing Director, Khalsa Aid, Asia Pacific, was also felicitated by the Chief Guest for their unmatched zeal and dedication to serving the society selflessly.’
PARIVARTAN the 13th national techno-cultural fest of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran commenced with a scintillating display of talent and technical brilliance. ‘Experience the Joy of Giving’ is the theme for this year’s PARIVARTAN and seeks to encourage the culture of giving and the spirit of selfless service among CGC students, faculty and the society in general.
More than 20,000 students from various schools and colleges across the country are participating in this two-day event. The fest will feature various competitions in technical, non-technical and cultural categories. These include competitions in Web designing, CAD Modelling, Robo soccer, Ad Mad Show, Programming, Auto Quiz, Technical Treasure Hunt, Quizzes, debates, dance, singing, face painting, debates, Collage making, among a host of others.
Sharing their views on the occasion, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran said, “PARIVARTAN seeks to infuse a sense of responsibility among students to become harbingers of positive social change. Such events encourage them to channelize their energies and hone their skills eventually helping them become well-rounded, socially responsible citizens taking the nation forward.”
