Release of research-based book, ‘Guru Nanak Dev ji-Jivan Ate Pavittar Nishaniya’
Jalandhar, November 28, 2019: A research based book, ‘Guru Nanak Dev ji-Jivan Ate Pavittar Nishaniya’ compiled by Prof Salinder Singh from the Department of Punjabi in collaboration with Gurbir Singh, Visiting Professor, Guru Nanak Dev University was released today by Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President College Governing Council. The book release program also saw the presence of College Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra, Mr Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secy. Governing Council. The aforementioned dignitaries congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the scholar authors for putting together a precious composition on Guru Nanak Dev ji, befitting the historic year of the 550th Gurupurab. Providing a verbal introduction to the book, Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra described the same as an important documentation which would pave the way for further research on the theme. The authors namely, Prof Salinder Singh and Prof. Gurbir Singh also discussed the contents on the book wherein the first part includes the description of all the far off places visited by Guru Nanak and the priceless dialogues that took place during the journeys followed by the verses recited and the message as put forth by Guru Nanak. The second part highlights all the important archives and monuments associated to Guru Nanak and the sub-sections also carry a detailed description of all the places, things and articles graced by the Guru himself. Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, HOD Punjabi described the book as an impressive account of Guru Nanak and his message along with surreal photography lending the readers a real like experience of the events in explanation.
