Jalandhar, December 26, 2012: As scheduled, the Red Ribbon Express arrived in Jalandhar City railway station at platform no 1.
The Red Ribbon has a comprehensive information with respect to the AIDS, TB, Dengue, Malaria and other dreaded diseases and other ailments, to aware people towards their health. A large number over 5,000 persons including students and other people visited.
One out of the eight coaches is reserved for various pathological tests to spot various diseases. A coach meant for information to the visitors. Many of the visitors got themselves checked up. As many as 65 cases sexually transmitted diseases (STD) were spotted.
Among those visited the train Mayor Sunil Jyoti, CPS K.D. Bhandari, Dr R. L. Bassan Civil Surgeon, Isha Kalia, SDM, Ashwani Kumar and District Education Officer. They appealed the citizens to make useful information while visiting Red Ribbon train which is a rare opportunity at one platform.
