Real Knife in Reel Life!

Ankush Arora slits his palm with a knife, gets 6 stitches while shooting for Yeh Vaada Raha
We have seen many actors on television going that extra mile to get more authenticity while enacting a particular scene but sometimes they end up bearing brunt of it. Recently the young and dynamic actor Ankush Arora who is seen as Karthik on ZEE TV’s popular primetime drama Yeh Vaada Raha slit his hand while shooting for a scene with a real knife and got six stitches for his deep wound.

Ankush shares, ‘’ We were shooting for this scene where Meher (played by Ankita Sharma) is threating to commit suicide. She had a knife in her hand and I was supposed to pull it from her. I didn’t realise she was holding a real knife and that too quite firmly and when I tried to pull it away from her, I ended up slitting my hand and passed out. The production immediately rushed me to a hospital, where I was given a drip of glucose and got six stitches for my wound. After three hours, I felt better and reported back to the shoot. It will take a couple of days for the stitches to heal completely. Sometimes we actors get so engrossed in a scene, striving for perfection that we forget to be cautious. I am just glad the shoot wasn’t stalled for too long because of me and we could wrap the schedule.”
