Bangalore, May 8, 2018:Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RMSD) by NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the NR Group, announced their students’ performance post SSLC results, today. The overall pass percentage achieved by RMSD for the Karnataka SSLC Class 10 (Matric) result for the batch 2017-2018 is 93.33%. Ms. Lakshmi N Shas topped the list with 88% marks.

Out of the 15 students who had appeared for SSLC examination from the school, the results saw 3 of the students securing average ofmore than 80% and 11 of them achieving A, B and B+ making it a proud moment for all.

The school which operates under “Child centric project” supported by ‘Department of the Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens’ Karnataka State, is a completely free residential school from 1st standard to 10th standard for visually impaired girls.

Commenting on the occasion,Mr. R.Guru, Chairman, NR Group said, “The basic objective of the school is to empower the disabled and to help them lead an independent and dignified life. We are proud to announce the success of the school in securing the position it envisioned. This success encourages us to aim higher inculcate the confidence to look forward for better results in future. “

The staggering success has given the children a ladder of confidence and boosted the will power strengthening to do even better in future.They all are keen on continuing their education and are aspiring to build a career in academics.

Commenting on her achievement,Lakshmi N S, school topper said, “I am a proud student of this school. It would have been impossible to reach this height without the school’s support. I would
also like to encourage others to ensure that their girl child gets education. I am looking forward to taking my education forward and embrace a career of my choice.”

The school was established in the year 1988 and since then it has been providing education and vocational training to the visually disabled girls in and around Mysuru. The school is equipped with lodging, boarding, and healthcare facilities. The school has commenced a new beginning on its 30th anniversary by adding the high school section. Instituted with the vision to impart all round development, apart from the curriculum, the school provides training in life-skills, music, dance and basic cooking.
