Ramgarhia Girls College Observes NCC Week

Students participate in NCC Week celebrations at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, November 22, 2014: NCC Week was observed with fervour at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana. In order to sensitize the younger generation about the plight of senior citizens, a visit to Swami Vivekanand Old Age Home, Ludhiana, was organised on Saturday where the NCC cadets got an opportunity to interact with the inmates and learn from their experiences.

College Principal, Dr.Narinder Sandhu addressed the cadets before the visit and averred that such celebrations remind us of our responsibility towards others. She said that the cadets should take pride in being associated with an organisation like National Cadet Corps which provides them with an opportunity to make a difference and she also stressed on the impact that elders leave on our lives. She asked them to make most of their visit by interacting with the senior citizens and taking a leaf out of their book. During their visit, the cadets conversed with the senior citizens and tried to understand their plight. They realised the importance of respecting and looking after the elderly people in the evening of their lives. To express their concern, the cadets distributed refreshments amongst them.

Principal Dr. Narinder Sandhu acknowledged the efforts of Prof. Jasbir Kaur Gill, Caretaker, NCC, in making the visit a successful one.
