Chandigarh, December 3, 2016: Panjab University Teacher’s Association (PUTA) President, Professor (Dr.) Promila Pathak and its Secretary Dr.M.C.Sidhu today i.e. December 3, 2016 in its special meeting, with Panjab University Campus Student Council
(PUCSC) President, Mr.Nishant Kaushal and representatives of other P.U.Student Associations including ABVP, INSO, NSUI, NSUI(SF); and Presidents of eight (8) unions/associations of Panjab University Non teaching Employees Federation i.e. P.U.Staff Non Teacher’s Association, P.U.Press Workers Union, P.U.Lab & Technical Staff Associatiion, P.U. Stenographer’s Association, P.U.Library Staff Association, P.U.C Class Staff Association, P.U. Field Worker’s Union, and P. U. Driver’s Union,
updated them with the latest developments regarding the issue of financial crisis of Panjab University, following which discussions were made at length and they all felt seriously concerned and subsequently, further action plan was chalked out. It was unanimously resolved to constitute a Joint Action committee comprising present PUTA President Prof. (Dr.) Promila Pathak, Secretary Dr. M.C Sidhu; other members of core committee recently constituted by PUTA[ (past 4 Presidents namely Prof. (Dr.) Akshaya Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Sandhir, Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh and Prof. (Dr.) Mohammed Khalid]; PUCSC President, Mr. Nishant Kaushal and one representative of each from other P.U. student associations; and Presidents of all non teaching employees unions/associations namely Sh.Ravinder Mohan Trikha, Sh Mam Chand, Sh. Sanjeev Verma, Sh. Jasmer Singh, Sh. Davinder Singh, Smt. Krishna Kumari, Sh. Jaspal Singh and Sh. Ranjit Singh Rana It was unanimously resolved that they will join PUTA in their all action plans including Awareness campaign, Protest March on December 8, 2016 in the Panjab University from Gandhi Bhawan to Administrative Block walking through lanes between different departments , Dharna on
Saturday i.e. Dec 17, 2016 in front of Administrative Block, and subsequent meetings with local eminent political leaders and the concerned officials of the MHRD and UGC at Delhi, and Punjab and UT at Chandigarh regarding the release of the pending grants of PU.
PUTA President, Professor (Dr.) Promila Pathak and its Secretary Dr. M.C.Sidhu today also invited Press Conference later and briefed the media persons regarding latest developments and their action plans regarding the release of the pending grants of PU. Other members present were PUTA member Prof. (Dr.) Navdeep Goel and past PUTA Presidents Prof. (Dr.)
Mohammed Khalid and Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Sandhir.
