Punjab youths throngs to Army Recruitment rally

Jalandhar, October 17, 2012: Army Recruitment Rally, which is being organised by Army Recruiting Office (HQ) under the aegis of HQ Recruiting Zone (Punjab and J&K) at Guru Nanak Stadium, Kapurthala with effect from October 15, received an overwhelming response from the youths of Punjab.
Col Atul Bisht, Deputy Director General (Recruiting) HQ Recruiting Zone (Punjab and J&K) inspected and witnessed the whole process of the rally, today.
While briefing about the rally Col Atul Bisht said that this rally is being organised for the youths of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar and Hoshiarpur districts. Over 4,500 candidates participated in recruitment rally on October 15 hailing from SBS Nagar, Jalandhar and Kapurthala.
On October 16 over 10,000 candidates were screened from Hoshiarpur district. About 17,000 youths participated in this rally till date. Physical Fitness Test (PPT) and Physical measurement for successful candidates completed today, the officer said adding that Common “Entrance Examination (CEE) of successful candidates would be held at Guru Nanak Stadium, Kapurthala on October 28.
Col Atul Bisht informed that, basically this recruitment rally is meant for four districts for Soldier General Duty (GD). In addition to the above, this recruitment rally is also open for all districts of Punjab for Soldier Technical and Religious Teachers categories. He further said that, there is an overwhelming response from Hoshiarpur district. Response from other three districts ie Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar is also improved as compared to the previous rallies conducted. The next rally will be held at Ludhiana.
Col Atul Bisht conveyed his sincere gratitude to Punjab state Government. Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police and all other departments of civil administration for providing an excellent support in terms of crowd and traffic control maintaining the Law and Order and medical support for this Army recruiting event.
